ABOUT ME
Engineer turned
researcher.
I started my career in chemical engineering — drawn to the analytical side of it, the data, the problem-solving. But I kept finding myself more interested in the people behind the processes than the processes themselves. That curiosity led me to UX, and I haven't looked back.

My story
I studied Chemical Engineering and worked at Braskem, one of Brazil's largest petrochemical companies. I was good at the analytical parts of the job — working with data, identifying patterns, and understanding systems. But something felt off. The work didn't connect to what I actually cared about.

I started researching career transitions and stumbled into UX almost by accident. The more I read, the more it felt like someone had designed a field specifically for me — rigorous enough to satisfy the engineer in me, but grounded in people, empathy, and real human experience. I enrolled in a postgraduate program in Human-Centred Design in Canada and never looked back.

Since then, I've had the chance to work on problems that matter — helping people with disabilities navigate a complex government benefit program, redesigning a national fisheries data system used by hundreds of civil servants, and building a reward experience for a wellness startup. What connects all of it is the same thing that drew me to this field: the belief that good research makes systems less frustrating and more human.

Education
Beyond work
Outside of research, I'm usually watching a film — not just watching, but really getting into it. I love analyzing what a director chose to show and what they left out, the pacing, the details that most people miss. It's not so different from what I do at work, honestly.

I also love reading, and I'm never without a book on the go. And at home, I share my space with two cats who have very strong opinions about my work schedule.
